Two personal projects focused on snow forecasts and trail route analysis. They illustrate my work in product design and development: features, interfaces, data processing and architecture.

PURPOSE

A website for checking snow forecasts in France, comparing ski resorts and planning a trip to the mountains.

MY CONTRIBUTION

I built the interface, API and storage, adding shared caching and a fallback weather provider to make the service more resilient.

Server rendering and API routes on Cloudflare Workers, with storage and migrations using D1 / Drizzle. Open-Meteo and MET Norway provide the forecasts. Identical requests are grouped to reduce external API calls.

PURPOSE

A tool for exploring the terrain of a trail route from a GPX file and preparing for a race.

  • GPX import with distance, elevation and route statistics.
  • Synchronised map and elevation profile, with the route split into terrain segments.

MY CONTRIBUTION

I wrote the analysis algorithms and their tests, then connected the map and elevation profile. Calculations run in a Web Worker to keep the interface responsive, and the GPX file stays in the browser.

Architecture & technical decisions · PaceAtlas

React for the interface, MapLibre for the map and uPlot for the elevation profile. GPX parsing, calculations and exports run in a Web Worker. Hono on Cloudflare Workers provides the API foundation; Vitest covers calculations and Playwright covers interactions.
